The Missouri Tigers are planning on upgrading their facilities after their entry into the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers revealed that they would be adding at least 6,000 seats at Memorial Stadium, which currently seats 71,004. The expansion would include 5,200 bleacher seats and 800 to 900 premium seats.

Even after the additional seats, Missouri will still rank 9th in the SEC in stadium size where 8 schools already have stadiums with over 80,000 plus seats. Currently Alabama and Tennessee’s stadiums both seat over 100,000 and LSU has already announced plans to begin an expansion that will put their stadium right at 100,000.

“With the move to the Southeastern Conference, this planning effort evaluated all facilities and identified those requiring immediate attention to accommodate the expectations of the new conference home,” the master plan reads.

Missouri also has plans to upgrade other facilities and has pledged over $72 million towards tennis, golf, baseball, and softball.
