Texas A&M interested in expanding Kyle Field

Apparently there have been some renderings of updated versions of Kyle Field circling. Just like Missouri, it seems that the Aggies are planning a few upgrades.

Here’s a rendering by Daniel Bartle of Lucid Arts. It’s a watercolor rendering and has since been removed from the artist’s site because of the stir that it’s caused.

“It is important to note that this drawing is not an architecture rendering,” said Jason Cook, A&M vice president for marketing and communications, in an email. “This is simply a conceptual drawing to stimulate conversation and feedback as to what might be possible for Kyle Field.”

Apparently A&M hired design firm Populous and had plans to possibly begin construction in 2013.

“We are currently exploring 47 different options for Kyle Field, with an emphasis on exploring different funding models at the present time,” Cook said.

While it’s obvious that this won’t be exactly what the update’s to Kyle Field will look like, it does give us all a look into what Aggie administrators are looking at.

Pretty sweet if you ask me. Kyle Field is already a place everyone should visit at least once.
