Mike Leach letter to fans about Oregon game

New Washington State head coach Mike Leach sent out a letter to fans about this season’s upcoming Seattle game at Century Link field.

Leach “refuses to fathom” that just as many Oregon fans will show up to the game as Cougar fans. Obviously Oregon fans may decide this is a bye week and stay home, so Leach may be right.

Leach hopes to bring a spark to the extremely down Cougar program. It’s going to take him some time to build up a program that hasn’t had any success since 2002 when they were led to the Rose Bowl by Mike Price and Jason Gesser. The Cougars have been through two coaches since Price left for Alabama, where he was fired before coaching a game, Bill Doba from 2003 to 2007 finished with a record of 30-29, and Paul Wulff from 2008-2011 with a record of 4-40.

So Leach is a pretty big step up for the Cougars.
