Arkansas State released a statement saying that the NCAA had denied the athletic department’s request for a hardship waiver that would have allowed Dyer to compete this coming season.
Dyer left Auburn after being granted a release from his scholarship following the 2010 BCS title game, in which he was the MVP. Dyer followed former Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn to Arkansas State in hopes that he would be allowed to play this season as the feature back.
Dyer will be eligible in 2013 according to the release, but will also be 3 years out of high school and draft eligible. So there’s that, which could change some betting lines so visit a sportsbook review before you hit up the sites.
Gus Malzahn won’t have to rely on a list of nobodies, he did get transfer David Oku from Tennessee after Oku sat out the 2011 season.
