Robert Nkemdiche not a done deal for Clemson
The number one overall recruit, Robert Nkemdiche, committed to Clemson a few weeks ago, but still says it’s not a done deal.
Clemson also has commitments from Nkemdiche’s Grayson High School teammates in running back Wayne Gallman and cornerback David Kamara, but Nkemdiche told the AJC that in order for Clemson to make it a “done deal”, they need to offer Grayson defensive back Ryan Carter.
“I am waiting on Clemson to offer Ryan; when that happens, it’s locked … it’s a done deal … it’s over,” Nkemdiche told the AJC.
If Clemson doesn’t offer Carter, who has offers from Ole Miss, Arkansas State, Southern Miss, and Tulane, will Nkemdiche actually follow through with his words and head to another school that will?
Nkemdiche said he would have to take a better look at Ole Miss, where his brother Denzel is a redshirt freshman, if that’s the case.
“We’ve all talked about going to Ole Miss together if that doesn’t work out with Clemson,” Carter said. “Robert’s brother is there, and he’s definitely trying to get us to go there.”
Nkemdiche also mentioned his runner-up LSU saying, “It’s real out there at LSU but they didn’t have any of my boys going there, I didn’t feel like I would fit in there.”
So Clemson’s Dabo Swinney has a tough choice to make. He can either offer Carter a spot and seal the deal with Nkemdiche, or not and hope that Nkemdiche isn’t that serious about following Carter to Ole Miss.

As an Alabama fan I REALLY wanted this kid. I was upset when he chose Clemson over Bama. Since that time I can honestly say you guys can have him. He is not going to be a team player. It was bad enough to push Dabo into offering his buddies the scholly’s but now he is saying that’s not enough? The hell with him. I am a Dabo fan and I hope he does the right thing and tells him to go F@CK Himself. He will be a cancer in your locker room. Saban won 2 out the 3 last NC’s without him and I will go out on a limb and say he will win another without him.
A couple of more things while I’m venting. Didn’t his HS coach play ball at Bama with Dabo? I believe he did, at some point his HS coach needs to step in and say that’s enough. If Dabo does cave on this demand he is sending a DANGEROUS message to all HS 5 stars which is bring your buddies along for a free ride as a package deal. Every future #1 recruit will now have entourage of cling on’s. I would rather have a 3 or 4 star that wants to be a team player than a 5 star hot head with a sense of entitlement. I am done with my rant now…. I feel better:)
