While some people seem to believe that NBC’s tape delay is doing us all a favor, I disagree. I don’t understand why NBC thinks that in the age of instant news and media a tape delay will help their numbers. It’s like when your friend decides to get married on the night of the Super Bowl and you avoid everyone until you can get home to watch the replay only to have the last guy of the night shake your hand and say “hey, so and so won the Super Bowl tonight”.
I suggest airing live and then replaying, like NBC has done for years in the past, the popular events during the evening broadcast. Especially on the weekends when the majority of their viewers are home and looking for something to watch at 2pm on Sunday afternoon when there’s not football on!
