Ex-Penn State quarterback Rob Bolden told LSU he’s coming

Rob Bolden to LSUThe LSU Tigers will report to practice tomorrow on their quest to win another SEC Championship and they’ll be doing so with former Penn State quarterback Rob Bolden. Bolden, who asked for a release from Joe Paterno last year and was told no, was granted a release by Bill O’Brien this season.

I know that there are LSU fans out there that see this as a possible problem, a controversy, the same situation that LSU suffered from last season, but they shouldn’t worry. This is 100% Zach Mettenberger’s team. But, as I stated on Monday, behind Mettenberger there is no depth. Rob Bolden is a solid backup for LSU and the best option they have this late in the game. Bolden is actually a gift for the Tigers. Should Mettenberger go down or start to have problems, on the field, Bolden has already played in 20 games and he started 16 of those. That’s 15 more games than Mettenberger and 20 more than Stephen Rivers, who is Mettenberger’s current backup. Not to mention, those 5 games Mettenberger played in last season netted him a total of 13 plays (1 TD).

Yes, as crazy as it may sound, Les Miles knows what he’s doing.

We also know that Les Miles wants to “help those guys” at Penn State because they deserve a shot, which they do.

Also, here’s a stack of the coaches playbooks. That’s a lot of zone-read option right there.
