The Georgia Bulldogs enter the 2012 season with extremely high hopes, and rightfully so. The Bulldogs were in the SEC Championship game last season and led the LSU Tigers 10 – 0 at the end of the first quarter, granted the outcome of the game was a little different, but the Bulldogs appearance in the game wasn’t a fluke.
Behind Junior quarterback Aaron Murray, the Bulldogs are looking to win the SEC East again, and this time they don’t want it to be close. Murray is one of the elite quarterbacks that resides in the SEC and a possible Heisman candidate. Unfortunately for Murray, he won’t have stud running back Isaiah Crowell coming out of the backfield this season but he does have Sophomore wide receiver Malcom Mitchell to toss the ball to.
Other than Murray, the best thing Georgia has going for them is that they return 9 starters on defense. That’s great news for a team that had the number 5 overall defense last season. With a defense like that, the Bulldogs biggest competition in the East will be themselves. They also have quite possibly the best schedule avoiding SEC West foes Alabama, Arkansas, and LSU. Georgia is an easy pick to win the East.
