The Tide have been dominant on all sides of the ball. If there was any question coming into this season whether the Bama defense would be able to maintain the statute of excellence that they held last season, through the first three games that question has been answered.
The Tide went on the road to Dallas and beat up on a very good Michigan team, handled their second game against Western Kentucky (who just upset Kentucky) with no problems, and they utterly embarrassed the Arkansas Razorbacks in a 52 – 0 drumming.
Oddly the Tide do not have the top ranked defense in the country. They are currently ranked 6th. Florida State currently holds the top spot and even LSU’s defense is ranked higher at 4th. Alabama should be able to pad that stat a little more coming up though with a few easier games against Florida Atlantic and Ole Miss. I expect by the time that game in November rolls around that the Tide defense will be ranked 1st or 2nd and Nick Saban will have demonstrated why he is the best college football coach in the country.
