Oregon State QB Sean Mannion is out indefinitely after sustaining a knee injury in the Beavers 19-6 victory over Washington State on Saturday.
Mannion, a sophomore, had completed 63% of his passes for 1,358 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions for the undefeated Beavers. Though he only completed 59% of his passes with three interceptions on Saturday, Mannion had been highly efficient in the Beaver’s previous three victories.
Junior QB Cody Vaz will now get the start against BYU (4-2) on Saturday. The matchup will be a big one for the Beavers, who are looking to go 5-0 for the first time since 1939. Vaz has experience within Mike Riley’s offense but he hasn’t thrown a live pass since 2010.
Oregon State and BYU will face off Saturday at 3:30 ET on ABC.
