Obviously, the number 1 coach on this list hasn’t changed even though the Razorbacks just got a win.

John L Smith

Arkansas Razorbacks interim head coach John L. Smith

Smith got his first win against the Auburn Tigers. It will probably be one of two or three wins that the Razorbacks will get this season unless some type of miracle happens. Some times it’s better to take the media scrutiny and keep the coach that made the bad decision instead of settling on an interim that never really won anything.

Gene Chizik

Auburn Tigers head coach Gene Chizik during 2012 Arkansas Razorbacks game

The wheels are falling off the bus on the plains and Auburn coach Gene Chizik is still driving it. Chizik appears to be this years Larry Coker, a coach who is surviving off of one season when he had one of the most dynamic college football players in history. How long will Auburn fans give him? Good question, but his buyout is $7.5 million right now, so another year doesn’t seem like a reach.

2012 Record: 1 – 4
Buyout: $7.5

Joker Phillips

Kentucky Wildcats head coach Joker Phillips

Kentucky fans aren’t too happy, and that showed with their extremely bleak attendance last weekend. The Wildcats have only one win on the season and that came to Kent State and that has them wondering if the Wildcats will ever become relevant in football.

Years: 3
Overall Record:  12 – 19
2012 Record: 1 – 4
Buyout: $1.75

Jeff Tedford

California Golden Bears head coach Jeff Tedford against UCLA Bruins

Tedford and the Bears recorded their first win of the season over then ranked 25th UCLA Bruins. Tedford’s teams have not been good for the last couple of years and Bears fans are getting restless. It may be time for them to part ways with the so called “quarterback guru” who has only produced 2 successful NFL quarterbacks. (Dilfer and Rodgers)

Years: 10
Overall Record: 79 -48
2012 Record: 1 – 4
Buyout: $2.8

Charlie Weis

Kansas Jayhawks head coach Charlie Weis

Charlie just started his time at Kansas, but already the Jayhawks look … well … like nothing has changed. When your only win of the season is against South Dakota State, you may have a problem. The Jayhawks did have a 25 – 24 loss to Rice and a 30 – 23 loss to Northern Illinois, but that just seems to make it worse. He’s on the seat, but I say give him some time.
