LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger was supposed to be the savior for the LSU offense, so far this season that hasn’t happened at all.

Mettenberger looks confused in the pocket and hasn’t made great decisions or throws. Yes, it would be easy to blame the LSU offensive line, who are playing about their 16th player this season, or the wide receivers who have dropped about every good throw from Mettenberger, but last week the line gave Mettenberger plenty of time to make decisions and step up and throw deep. The outcome was still not good enough.

If the Tigers are going to have a shot at beating Alabama, it’s going to take more than rainbow shoes because the quarterback on the other side of the field has been absolutely perfect.
