Alabama Governor Robert Bentley upset with Saban’s play-calling

1x1.trans Alabama Governor Robert Bentley upset with Sabans play calling Robert Bentley play calling Nick Saban interception Governor Alabama Crimson Tide AJ McCarron 4th down

The Alabama Crimson Tide lost their first game since November 5th of 2011 last weekend to the Texas A&M Aggies and their Heisman candidate quarterback Johnny Manziel. Now people are questioning Nick Saban and his play-calling.

Even the Governor of Alabama, Robert Bentley seems to think Saban didn’t know what he was doing when he allowed AJ McCarron to pass the ball from the 2 yard line with under 3 minutes to go in the game down by 5.

Bentley was asked about whether or not he would run the ball on 4th and goal from the 2 yardline on the Paul Finebaum radio show this week.

“I would actually have run the ball for four straight times”

Well Governor, that’s why you are the Governor of the state of Alabama and not the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. You also don’t have 3 college football national titles to your name and still have an outside shot at a 4th (3rd in 4 years)

Remember folks, things said on the Finebaum show should be disregarded 100% of the time. That includes when they come from a Governor.

Coach Saban knows what he is doing Governor. You manage the state of Alabama’s government and let Coach Saban take care of our team.

Bentley should stick to what he thinks he’s good at. By the way Governor, tthere have been a few of your play calls that I and others have not agreed with as well.

  3. Stan J says:

I am not a Tide fan but I am learning respect for football coaches seeing how everyone thinks he or she is smarter than someone like Saban who has done an excellent job. It is bad enough that Les Miles gets so much flak too, a coach, a great coach, who is not afraid to challenge teams outside the SEC such as Oregon or Washington.

  4. Todd Scofield says:

That is too funny!!! Apparently the Alabama governor has a bet on the SEC and the Tide winning the BCS. He must be an SEC or Tide alumni. Can we get an investigation on his reason why he felt compelled to make this comment and maybe get the BCS and the SEC stuffed in the trashcan where it belongs

I’m with the governer on this one or was it actually Saban that made the call? I think AJ made that call himself getting roughed up by hohnny football and wanted the glory for himself to get the winning touchdown instead of handing the ball off to a bama prime running game player. it pisses me off more every day on that one play.

The governor should try to do the things he said was going to do if got to be the governor of ALABAMA
