Max Wittek is going to start this weekend when USC faces Notre Dame. Who is Max Wittek? He’s the backup quarterback to Matt Barkley. He’s a redshirt freshman who has only 8 completions in 9 attempts for 95 yards and has played in only 6 games.
Wittek is getting the start after Barkley was injured during last weekends game against UCLA. Ironically Barkley was injured by a former Notre Dame player’s son.
Wittek is already making some pretty big claims.
“I’m going to go out there,” Wittek said in the interview, “I’m going to play within myself, within the system, and we’re going to win this ballgame.”
Wittek is a pretty confident kid, just the kind that may actually end up pulling off what he said.
Wittek is a 6’4″ 245 lbs pro-style quarterback from Mater Dei. He went to school with Barkley and also used the same quarterbacks coach Steve Clarkson.
