Former LSU safety Chad Jones worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.
Jones, whose career took a horrible turn before it even began after an accident in New Orleans, is trying to make a comeback after nearly 3 years away from football.
Jones was drafted by the New York Giants in the 3rd round of the 2009 NFL draft and was kept on the roster for two years before being released after working out for the team in the spring.
“Leg feels great, man,” Jones said. “I feel good moving around on the field. I was moving around about 90 percent. My backpedal was crisp, my drive on the ball was good. I always have the ball skills, catching the ball. But I actually felt good being on another NFL field again.”
After the accident, doctors told Jones he was lucky to be alive and that would never play football again. Even after the surgeries there was still the chance that he may lose his leg.
Congrats to Chad on proving so many wrong.
Here is a documentary video put together chronicles his journey.
