Four star running back Greg Garmon announced his intention to leave the Iowa Hawkeyes on Wednesday. Garmon is the 4th running back the Hawkeyes have lost this year. Iowa loses running backs like Spinal Tap loses drummers.
Garmon told the Cedar Rapids Gazette,
“it wasn’t clicking for him at Iowa.” He added that he loved the program and the coaches treated him well. As for where he was transferring, he said he was “looking everywhere.”
Garmon had limited playing time this year as a true freshman carrying the ball 38 times for 122 yards and caught 8 passes for 57 yards. Garmon did miss a few games this season with an elbow injury suffered against Northern Iowa. Garmon was behind sophomore Mark Weisman, a converted full back, and sophomore Damon Bullock on the Hawkeye depth chart.
