Miami Hurricanes’ head coach Al Golden has been mentioned in connection with several openings this season, but has not emerged as the leading candidate for any and has remained committed to Miami.

Yesterday SI.com’s Pete Thamel tweeted that Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez had contacted Golden about the opening that was created when Bret Bielema left for Arkansas, and that Golden was “mulling a decision” about the opening.

Not long after Thamel’s tweet though a couple of sources within the Hurricanes’ staff refuted the report made by Thamel saying that there was “ZERO” chance that Golden leaves Miami.

“NO SHOT HE GOES TO WISCONSIN ZERO NONE NOTTA ZILCH,” one staffer wrote in response to Sun Sentinel inquiries.

This is good news for the Hurricanes who are hoping to keep Golden and the stability he’s brought to the program during the NCAA’s investigation of the program.

Interim Athletic Director Blake James released a statement later yesterday revealing that Golden remains “100 percent committed to UM”.

In his two seasons at Miami, Golden has an overall record of 13 – 11 and finished tied for 1st in the Coastal division this season.
