former Arkansas Razorbacks head coach John L Smith

Former Arkansas Razorbacks interim coach John L Smith has found work.

Smith has been hired by Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado to turn the program around after a winless season.

“We are extremely fortunate to have a coach with the tremendous background and experience that John L. brings to Fort Lewis College,” said athletic director Gary Hunter.

This isn’t the first job that Gary Hunter has given Smith. Hunter hired Smith to the head coach at Idaho in 1988.

Smith took over the Arkansas program after Bobby Petrino was outed after an inappropriate affair. Smith led the Razorbacks to a 4 – 8 season.

Fort Lewis went 0 – 12 last season allowing on average 37 points per game.
