LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles will be getting a raise.
Miles and the Tigers finished the 2012 season with a disappointing 25 – 24 loss in the Chick-fil-A Bowl to Clemson but the Tigers still finished with 10 wins. That makes the 6th time in 8 years that Miles has led the Tigers to 10 or more wins.
“Les Miles is one of the most successful coaches in America and he has the LSU program in position to compete for championships each and every year in the most dominant football conference in the country,” athletic director Joe Alleva said. “He recruits at an elite level, his players graduate and he is a respected member of the community. We are proud he will lead the LSU football program for the long-term future.”
Miles will receive a $500,000 dollar raise from $3.751 million to $4.3 million per year, making him the 4th highest paid coach in the country along with Ohio State’s Urban Meyer.
