It’s tough being the backup to a freshman Heisman Trophy winner, and that’s exactly what Jameill Showers is experiencing. Showers told MinerIllustrated.com that he has sent papers to UTEP and hopes to be playing for the Miners in 2013.
Showers took a visit to the UTEP campus in El Paso last weekend and like what he saw enough to put in the request. Since Showers is expected to graduate in the coming months, he will be able to play in 2013 and will have two years of eligibility.
Showers was expected to be the Aggie quarterback last Spring, but … well … Johnny Manziel happened.
