Monday night, Jeremy Liggins, the four star dual-threat quarterback out of Lafayette High School in Oxford, Mississippi, decided to make his announcement on where he would be attending college.
All of the usual schools were listed, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Auburn, but LSU had been rumored to be the choice he would make. That is exactly what took place.
Liggins is the #16 ranked dual-threat Qb according to Rivals.com. He’s 6-3 and listed at 270, but is rumored to be heavier than that.
After he made his choice, Liggins stated “I’m used to winning”, something LSU has been doing regularly over the last decade. Liggins may have chosen LSU noting that LSU coach Les Miles likes to run the option, see the terrible performance by Jordan Jefferson on January 9th for an example, and that LSU doesn’t have a real option quarterback on their depth chart. (Please don’t comment that Jarrard Randall is an actual option)
Apparently, Oxford turned up for the Liggins’ announcement and mounties were sent in to make sure Rebel fans didn’t get too upset if Liggins chose Mississippi State.
