For the 9th time in school history, and the second in his 6 year career, Wayne Tinkle and the Montana Grizzlies will be playing in the NCAA tournament.

The Grizzlies beat Weber State 85 – 66 to secure their spot. The Grizzlies were down 36 – 31 at the half, and led by Mathias Ward (10 of 16 for 23 points), and Kareem Jamar (9 of 12 for 23 points), they fought their way back to a 54 point second half.

Montana’s farthest venture in the tournament was the Sweet Sixteen in 1975. They’ve only made it past the 1st round one other time (2006).
