Big 12 interim commissioner Chuck Neinas doesn’t understand why people don’t believe him when he says that the Big 12 isn’t interested in expanding beyond the current format of 10 teams.
“Why don’t people believe us when we say we’re content at 10?” Neinas said. “There is comfort with 10. The membership is much more comfortable having a conference without divisions. They’ve experienced divisions. Just three weeks ago our athletic directors discussed it thoroughly and everyone said we’re just comfortable with 10.”
Well, for one, MONEY!!! Come on Chuck, the rest of us see the SEC, Big 10, and PAC 12 sitting pretty with 12/14 teams and wonder what is taking the Big 12 so long to go after Florida State and Clemson.
Even LSU coach Les Miles doesn’t believe Neinas.
#LSU coach Les Miles: “as we all know, #Big12 will add teams then we’ll all be playing championship games.”

And why should he? These conferences recognize the value that comes with having more teams in more markets and a Big 12 team in Florida would increase Big 12 revenue exponentially.
So no Chuck, no one believes you when you say that the Big 12 is happy at 10 teams because we all know that they aren’t.
