Lane Kiffin was rumored to be the next coach at Houston, then at USF, then at FAU and then things seemed to fall apart … until today when we learn that Kiffin will in fact be named the new head coach at Florida Atlantic.
Interestingly, Kiffin will probably be taking a rather large pay cut as FAU was only paying Charlie Partridge $600k before he was fired. Had Kiffin not accepted the FAU job, he would have likely been the offensive coordinator at LSU where he would be making upwards of around $1.5 million in a multi-year deal with annual raises.

Now LSU will be looking for someone other than the guy Ed Orgeron was hired because he promised to bring onto his staff.
