P.J. Fleck to be the next head coach at Minnesota

P.J. Fleck has accepted the head coaching job at Minnesota. The job came open after former coach Tracy Claeys supported his players boycott of the program after many were suspended.

Fleck, who is 36-years-old, will make somewhere around $21 million over a six-year deal with the Gophers according to unconfirmed local reports.

Fleck had a record of 30-22 in his four seasons at Western Michigan. He took the team from a 1-11 first year in 2013 to 13-1 in 2016 with their only loss coming to Wisconsin in the Cotton Bowl.

Reports of Les Miles also talking with Minnesota surfaced earlier this week, but Miles’s ego would likely never allow him to take such a job.
